Privacy policy
Last updated: 11 October 2026
In short: TypEvent doesn’t collect any data about you. There is no networking code in the keyboard, so what you type never leaves your phone. No account, no analytics, no ads and no third-party SDKs.
Who this covers
This policy covers the TypEvent iPhone app and its keyboard (together, TypEvent) and the typevent.app website. TypEvent is developed by Takács Miklós, who is also the data controller. Contact: legal@typevent.app.
What you type
The keyboard does all its work on your phone: suggestions, corrections and accent restore all come from its own engine running on the device. There is no networking code in the keyboard, so neither your text, nor the suggestions, nor the way you type ever reaches us or anyone else — even if you turn on Full Access.
What stays on your phone
TypEvent stores the following, only on your phone:
- your settings — theme, colours, sounds, languages, toolbar order, the position of switches; these live in storage shared by the app and the keyboard;
- what you teach it — words and other forms (even an e-mail address or phone number, if that’s what you teach it), and emoji pairs if you turn them on; only with word learning on, and only what you tap; by default it remembers nothing;
- your decisions about corrections — if you dismiss a correction for good, it remembers not to offer it again;
- your own background and sounds — if you choose any.
The keyboard keeps what you teach it and your decisions in its own storage; not even the app can see them.
None of this is uploaded to any server. If your iPhone makes iCloud or computer backups, Apple may include this data in them under its own rules — that’s handled by Apple, not us. Deleting the app deletes all of TypEvent’s data from the phone.
Full Access
Full Access is optional; typing is complete without it. If you turn it on, the keyboard can vibrate, you can paste from the clipboard, your own background can show, and the app can see settings you change on the keyboard. iOS then warns that a keyboard could send what you type; TypEvent’s keyboard has no networking code, so it doesn’t.
Contacts and text replacements
iOS can give the keyboard your contacts’ names and your text replacements so it can suggest them (names only if you turn this on). TypEvent uses them only on your phone while you type; it doesn’t store them separately and never passes them on.
Purchases
Apple handles the custom look purchase in the App Store. We never see your payment details; Apple only tells the app that the purchase was made. Apple’s privacy policy applies to the purchase.
Crash reports
TypEvent has no crash reporting or analytics tools of its own. If you’ve turned on Share With App Developers on your iPhone (Settings › Privacy & Security › Analytics & Improvements), Apple may share anonymous technical crash reports with us. We use them only to fix bugs. You can turn this off at any time.
If you write to us
If you send us an email (for example to support@typevent.app), we use your address and message only to reply, and keep them only as long as it takes to deal with your request. Legal basis: our legitimate interest in answering you (GDPR Article 6(1)(f)). Mail sent to typevent.app addresses reaches the developer’s mailbox through an e-mail forwarding service; beyond that, we don’t share your messages with anyone.
The website
typevent.app uses no cookies, analytics or tracking, and loads nothing from other sites — even the font is served from here. The site is delivered by Cloudflare; like any web server, it needs to see your IP address and request details to send you the page and protect it from attacks. We keep no visitor logs and look at no analytics; Cloudflare may log requests in its own systems to filter attacks. Cloudflare acts as the site’s host and may process data in the United States; Cloudflare’s privacy policy covers its processing.
Children
TypEvent doesn’t collect data from anyone, including children.
Your rights
Because TypEvent doesn’t collect data about you, there’s usually nothing for us to give you or delete. If you’ve written to us, you can ask us to show, correct or delete your messages, and object to us keeping them: write to legal@typevent.app. You can complain to the Hungarian data protection authority (NAIH, naih.hu) or to the authority where you live.
Changes
If the way TypEvent handles data changes, we’ll update this page and the date at the top. If a change ever involved collecting data, we’d say so in the app beforehand.
