It helps to mention which iPhone and which version of iOS you’re using, and to attach a screenshot if you can.
The menus are in Hungarian for now
Typing and suggestions work in all fourteen languages, but the app’s screens and the keyboard’s menus are currently in Hungarian. These are the names you’ll meet most often:

| Témák | Themes |
| Műhely | Workshop |
| Visszajelzés | Feedback (sound and vibration) |
| Autokorrekció | Autocorrect |
| Ékezetpótlás | Accent restoration (accents, apostrophes, capitals in names) |
| Húzásos gépelés | Swipe typing |
| Szótanulás | Word learning |
| Egyedi kinézet | Custom look (the purchase) |
| Tanult szavak | Learned words |

Setting up
How do I turn TypEvent on?
Download the app and open it: the introduction walks you through setup. To do it by hand: Settings › General › Keyboard › Keyboards › Add New Keyboard… › TypEvent.
While typing, hold the globe key and choose TypEvent.
Do I have to allow Full Access?
No. Without Full Access you type exactly the same way, with suggestions, the dot and the themes.
If you turn it on, the keyboard can vibrate, paste from the clipboard works, your own background shows, and the app can see the settings you change on the keyboard. There is no networking code in the keyboard, so even with Full Access it sends nothing.
Why doesn’t TypEvent appear in some fields?
In password and phone number fields, iOS doesn’t allow other keyboards and always shows its own. This is true for every third-party keyboard. Some apps also block third-party keyboards in their own fields.
The keyboard has disappeared or won’t show up.
- While typing, hold the globe key and choose TypEvent.
- If it isn’t in the list, check Settings › General › Keyboard › Keyboards; if needed, remove it and add it again.
- If it still doesn’t appear, restart your iPhone. If the problem stays, write to support@typevent.app.
Typing
How does the dot work?
The red dot sits between the keys. Hold it for a moment and the toolbar opens around it. Slide your finger onto an orb and let go to use that tool.
Drag the dot sideways straight away instead, and the keyboard switches to one-handed mode (left, both hands, right). In the app you can make the drag move the cursor or change the height instead, and choose which tools sit around the dot and in what order. The dot can move to the other side as well.
How do I move the cursor?
Hold the space bar: the keyboard turns into a trackpad and the cursor follows your finger.
How do I switch language?
Swipe along the space bar. You choose which languages to switch between in the app, under Nyelvek (Languages). The globe key switches to your iPhone’s other keyboards.
Where do I turn on autocorrect, accent restoration and swipe typing?
In the app, or from the dot’s toolbar while you type. All three are off by default: TypEvent doesn’t change a single word on its own.
How do I teach it a new word?
First turn on Szótanulás (Word learning) in the app. It’s off by default, and TypEvent doesn’t memorise anything by itself.
When it doesn’t know a word and you delete the space after it, a + tile appears in the bar: one tap teaches it the word. Hold a learned word in the bar and a bin appears; let go to forget it.
What does “beta” mean for swipe typing?
We’re still refining it in the first release, so it’s off by default. If you turn it on and something doesn’t work the way you expect, tell us which word it was.
Look and purchase
What’s free, and what does the custom look add?
Everything the keyboard does and all sixteen built-in themes are free. The custom look is a one-time purchase: your own colours and themes, the paid sound sets, your own background and every fine setting in the Workshop. Family Sharing is included.
How do I restore my purchase?
In the app, go to Műhely › Egyedi kinézet (Workshop › Custom look) and tap Vásárlás visszaállítása (Restore purchase). Make sure you’re signed in with the Apple Account you bought it with.
My own background doesn’t show.
Your own background needs Full Access: go to Settings › General › Keyboard › Keyboards › TypEvent and turn on Allow Full Access.
Your data
What does TypEvent know about me?
It sends nothing anywhere. Your settings and the words you teach it stay on your phone; there’s no account and no analytics. The details are in the privacy policy.
How do I delete the words it has learned?
Hold a word in the bar and use the bin to make it forget that word. To clear them all, open the keyboard’s settings from the dot’s toolbar (the Beállítások orb) › Tanult szavak (Learned words) › clear. Deleting the app also removes your settings and learned words from the phone.
